So I´m slightly late with a post again, I promise You that if You want to experience real internet shortage, don´t bother go to Cyprus or Kauai – head for the Kwazulu-Natal province in South Africa 😉
The hotel in Durban offered 30KB/d on wifi, In Drakensberg the speed was 0.7Mbit/s down and 0.3Mbit/s down and basically anything but text messaging failed during the entire week!
So grateful this was not a few years ago when I would still have gone ballistic and ruined my own experience 😛
So what happened instead?
Well, I ran into this 78 yrs young fantastic pianist and got a private concert with Beethoven at the Royal Hotel in Durban and Schuman at the City Hall!
(the pic is from the City Hall concert room, the piano is a Steinway kept in mint condition – what a sound!!!)
Walked the beach
for hours, played in the waves and tried an obstacle course at uSkaka.
Hiked the “Cathedral Four” and gratefully received the certificate!
Met this beautiful “lady” at 1.5m distance:

And, of course, much more – yet what´s most important to me is the repeated insight how much easier it is to stay in the here and now when distractions like Facebook etc are not an option!
So, lets do the stuff we need to get done online and then get back into the real world, ok?
Thank You so much for checking out my blog, I´m grateful for You sharing this with friends and loved ones who might benefit!
And, please let me know Your thoughts!
Peace // Claes
